Break free

123 Days Stronger: Breaking Free from Porn Addiction

Breaking Free from Porn Addiction

So, it’s been 123 days since I decided to change my life and boy, what a journey it has been!

But before I get to that, let me tell you a little something about myself.  I am 25. I’ve completed my undergraduate degree, and I have a fine job. Today, my life (if not all sunshine) is at least passing along as a Happy Breeze. I feel quite happy and content.

But it was not always so.

Until last year, things were pretty bad. I was either frustrated or wasting most of my time on things I shouldn’t have. Something was holding me back for years, something I didn’t even realize was dragging me down: porn addiction.

But four months ago, I decided to take up THE BIG CHALLENGE. Okay, okay, maybe I exaggerated that, but trust me, Porn Addiction Recovery is indeed a tough & long journey.

And if I have to tell the long story short in one sentence- Well, it was not easy, but it feels worth it. Today, 123 days later, I feel different. Before, I used to lament how quickly time passed, but now, every moment feels precious. I’ve actually started living in the moment.

And you know what? I absolutely love my life now. Of course, I have my daily challenges, but everything is really worth it.

I decided to break free from its grip; I guess it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Now, if I talk about these last 123 days, well, here’s how it all went.

Firstly, giving up porn wasn’t easy. It took determination, willpower, and a whole lot of support. But every single day, I took it one step at a time. Things were tough and slow at first. I had a number of relapses. But I started again every time.

Eventually, I somehow stuck up with a strong consistency, and I started to see changes.

Now, I’m not here to preach or judge. Everyone’s journey is different, and what worked for me might not work for you. But one thing I can say with absolute certainty after these 123 days: giving up porn has allowed me to live my life to the fullest.

Now, you might be wondering, how did I do it? Well, it is no big secret. In fact, here is what I do.

First off, I had to acknowledge my problem. Trust me, living in ignorance is not bliss!

Though it wasn’t easy to admit, once I did, it was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I knew I had a problem, and I was really determined to look for and work on the solution.

So, moving on ahead, I went for some research (I was still too shy to talk directly about this to anyone). I sought out different online resources and online support. And all this research made one thing clear- I couldn’t do it alone.

Next, I had to find healthy ways to cope with my urges and cravings. So, I started looking for other outlets. I enrolled myself in a gym (it was hard to stick up, but I somehow did!). I also started spending more time with my loved ones – anything to distract myself and keep my mind occupied.

And perhaps most importantly, I had to change my mindset. I stopped viewing porn as a solution or escape and started seeing it for what it truly was – a barrier to my mental happiness and fulfillment. By shifting my perspective, I was able to stay motivated and focused on my goal each day.

Now, here I am, 123 days later, and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier. It really feels like a little Victory; I genuinely feel so proud of myself!!

And I know I still need a lot to cover to reach my final destination. Sure, there are still challenges ahead, but after 123 days, I feel stronger, more determined, and more resilient.

I WILL DO IT!!

And if I can, well, so can you. So go ahead and change your life, and if you haven’t done so already, then start today and take it a day at a time.

It’s a tough battle, but it’s one worth fighting. Take it from someone who’s been there – life is so much better on the other side.

Here’s to 123 days of freedom and many more to come.

Take care,
